Let's Work it Out

It was a beautiful weekend in New York so my sisters and I decided to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and get a little work out in while we were being tourists!

So this all started a couple of weeks ago when I was going through my closet and switching things from winter to spring/summer (which I highly advise).  After trying on a few items I realized everything was more snug than last year!  I have always had active jobs and always ate fairly well so I never really had to worry about getting a work out in or how things were going to fit but I hit 26, got an office job and sadly realized those days are long gone!  So I thought I would share with you how I am working on getting back into that bikini this summer.

I don’t have a gym membership so I do my work outs at home or if it’s a beautiful day I take a stroll around the city.  Between my job and the blog I don’t have much time in my day for work outs so I look for something fast an easy.  Here are some youtube channels that I follow and you can do in your living room; BRETT CAP /  JILLIAN MICHAELS.  Also, here is a yoga video I love, it’s perfect if you are a beginner like me; YOGA FOR BEGINNERS.

Grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do so I usually venture out and get more than what is on my list, but here is what I typically have to get every week:

  • Spinach

  • Romaine

  • Carrots

  • Broccoli

  • Mushrooms

  • Cherry tomatoes

  • Avocados

  • Strawberries

  • Blackberries

  • Bananas

  • Apples (pink ladies are my favorite)

  • Fresh salsa

  • Gluten free tortilla chips (taste better than corn ones)

  • Fresh peanut butter (I want one of those machines)

  • Hummus

  • Eggs

This is what I would have for meals Monday-Friday:

Breakfast: Mixed fruit or egg whites with mushrooms (and some hot sauce) 

Snack: Raw almonds or cashews

Lunch: Juice including Spinach, carrots, and 2 or 3 different fruits; I use my NutriBullet for this, if you don’t have one I highly suggest investing in one.

Dinner: Salad with carrots, tomatoes, Avocado, sliced almonds, with an oil and vinegar or lemon juice dressing.

Snack: Tea with a little yogurt and granola

Now I do switch things up a bit but this is what I try to do all week and on the weekends I let myself have a little break.
